Raiders Sign WRs Nathan Palmer & Robert Herron

The Oakland Raiders announced that they’ve signed WRs Nathan Palmer and Robert Herron to contracts on Tuesday.

Herron, 23, was take in sixth round of last year’s draft by the Buccaneers. However, he was waived with an injury designation coming out of the preseason and later ended up on Tampa Bay’s injured reserve list.

The Buccaneers later granted him his release before he signed on to the Dolphins’ practice squad in October. Miami placed Herron on waivers in the days leading up to this year’s draft.

In 2014, Herron appeared in eight games for the Bucs and caught six passes for 58 yards receiving and a touchdown.

Palmer, 27, originally signed on with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of Northern Illinois back in 2012. Since then, Palmer has played for the Colts, Broncos and Patriots before signing on to the Bears’ practice squad last October.

Chicago elected to bring him back on a future/reserve deal in January before placing him on waivers a few weeks ago.

Palmer hasn’t appeared in an NFL game since the 2012 season when he caught one pass for -4 yards receiving over the course of five games.
