The Oakland Raiders announced Wednesday that they’ve agreed to terms with second-round DL Jihad Ward.
Ward, 22, was taken with the No. 44 overall pick by the Raiders. There was some talk that Ward may need arthroscopic knee surgery, but that has been downplayed in recent weeks. Oakland still plans to bring Ward along slowly this summer.
According to OverTheCap.com, Ward receives a four-year contract worth $5,539,298 to go along with a signing bonus of $2,228,944.
During his college career at Illinois, Ward recorded 104 tackles, 13 tackles for a loss, 5.5 sack, four forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries, and 3 pass deflections.
