Raiders Signing WR Brandon LaFell

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Raiders are signing veteran WR Brandon LaFell to a one-year contract on Monday.

This comes shortly after the Raiders elected to part ways with Martavis Bryant, despite trading a third-round pick for him a few months ago.

The Browns reportedly had some interest in LaFell, but it appears as though the Raiders stepped up to get him.

LaFell, 31, is a former third-round pick of the Panthers back in 2010. He spent four seasons in Carolina before joining the Patriots as a free agent back in 2014.

The Bengals signed LaFell to a one-year, $2,500,000 contract in 2016 and re-signed him to a two-year, $9 million contract that included $3.3 million guaranteed last year. He was set to make a base salary of $2.55 million for the 2018 season when Cincinnati released him a few weeks ago.

In 2017, LaFell appeared in all 16 games for the Bengals and caught 52 passes for 548 yards receiving and three touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 96 receiver out of 116 qualifying players.
