Raiders Will Start Matt McGloin At QB In Week 12

Update:

Oakland Raiders HC Dennis Allen announced that Matt McGloin will be their starting quarterback against the Titans in Week 12.

Scott Bair of CSN California reports that QB Matt McGloin took all of the first-team reps during the session available to the press on Wednesday, despite Terrelle Pryor being back at practice.

  • Ian Rapoport adds that McGloin has the “inside track to start” on Sunday.

Raiders HC Dennis Allen mentioned Monday that McGloin has “certainly earned the right to be in the discussion” for the starting job this week following a win over the Texans.

McGloin completed 18-of-32 passes for 197 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions last weekend, so they may end up riding the hot hand for Week 12’s game against the Titans.

In Pryors last four games, he has a terrible touchdown to interception ratio of 1-8 to go along with a completion percentage just over 50 percent. The Raiders lost three of those four games, so it’s at least worth seeing what they have in McGloin.

We’ll have more updates as the news is available.
