Raiders Activate CB D.J. Hayden, Promote DE Denico Autry

Update:

The Oakland Raiders announced Saturday that they have have activated CB D.J. Hayden and signed DE Denico Autry to their active roster.

Autry signed with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of Mississippi State back in May. He was later added to the Raiders’ practice squad.

During his college career, Autry appeared in 26 games and recorded 73 tackles, six sacks and three forced fumbles.

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports that the Oakland Raiders are expected to active 2013 first-round pick CB D.J. Hayden from the PUP list on Saturday.

This move would allow him to be available for Sunday’s match up against the Cleveland Browns.

The Raiders placed Hayden on the  physically unable to perform list due to a foot injury back in late August. He was able to return to practice this week and told reporters not too long ago that he had been ready to return for some time.

Hayden’s NFL career has gotten off to a pretty disappointing start to say the least. However, there is still plenty of time for him to develop into a solid contributor for the Raiders’ defense.

Last year, Hayden appeared in eight games and recorded 26 tackles, one interception and a forced fumble.
