Raiders To Meet With OT Donald Penn’s Agent At Combine

Scott Bair of CSN Bay Area reports the agent for impending free agent OT Donald Penn will meet with Raiders executives at the NFL Combine this week to discuss a possible extension.

Penn voiced his displeasure a few weeks ago when he admitted that the team had yet to contact him regarding a deal. In fact, Penn said that he and his agent had already begun exploring outside options at the time.

In addition, Penn said that he feels underpaid by the Raiders and that he will not continue to play for a discounted price, per Guy Haberman.

Oakland has over $67 million in available cap space, so they could easily afford to give Penn a raise if they felt this was the right move for them.

Penn, 32, finished out his two-year, $9.6 million contract that he signed in 2014 after being released by the Buccaneers and is in position to be one of the best offensive tackles in this year’s free agent market.

In 2015, Penn appeared in all 16 games and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 10 overall tackle last season.

We have Penn featured in our Top 100 – 2016 Free Agents list.
