Raiders Could Trade Back For Fresno State QB Derek Carr?

Vic Tafur of the San Francisco Chronicle recently joined the Bleacher Report to discuss some of the Raiders options in the upcoming draft.

According to Tafur, the Raiders aren’t in love with any of the top-three quarterbacks including Johnny Manziel, Blake Bortles and Teddy Bridewater.

  • Tafur suggests that the Raiders could look to trade down and target Fresno State QB Derek Carr later in the draft.
  • If the Raiders elect to stay at No. 5 overall and target a position other than quarterback, Tafur mentions that LT Greg Robinson and WR Sammy Watkins could be options.

It’s worth mentioning that Bridewater told reporters this afternoon that he has already met with the Jaguars and Raiders, and added that felt like the interview went pretty well.

Oakland is believed to be looking to acquire more draft picks, so I don’t think it’s unrealistic to think they could consider going this route given that the draft is believed to be much deeper than in recent years.

We have the Raiders taking Watkins at No. 5 overall in our most recent 2014 NFL Mock Draft.
