Raiders Waive OL Vadal Alexander With Non-Football Injury Designation

The Oakland Raiders announced Tuesday that they’ve waived OL Vadal Alexander with a non-football injury designation.

This shouldn’t come as a big surprise, considering that Raiders HC Jon Gruden said Monday that he expected to “move on” from Alexander.

It’s worth mentioning that Alexander has been suspended first four games of 2018 season without pay for violating the NFL’s performance-enhancing substances policy.

Alexander, 24, is a former seventh-round pick of the Raiders back in 2016. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $2.41 million contract and stands to make base salaries of $630,000 and $720,000 over the final two years of the agreement.

The Raiders signed Alexander to a contract back in May, but officially placed him on the did not report list last week.

In 2017, Alexander was active for 15 games and placed a total of 256 snaps, according to Pro Football Focus.
