“Strong Possibility” That The Raiders Could Place WR Jacoby Ford On IR

Head coach Dennis Allen updated the status of WR Jacoby Ford by mentioning that there’s a “strong possibility” that he will be placed on season-ending injured reserve, via Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com.

It remains to be seen whether or not Ford would be eligible to return under the league’s new IR rule, but he will definitely be out for an extended period of time.

Raiders head coach Dennis Allen mentioned that he expects WR Jacoby Ford to miss a “significant” amount of time after undergoes surgery on his injured foot, per Jerry McDonald.

We’ve got five receivers right now and Reggie [McKenzie] and I will look down and see where we’re at,” Allen said.

Ford wound up dealing with a similar injury last season, which forced him to miss six games. The Raiders will most likely turn to rookie Rod Streater and Derek Hagan for the time being.
