Rams Already In Discussing Deals For The #2 Overall Pick

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the St Louis Rams are already discussing trades with “multiple teams” for their #2 overall pick in this year’s NFL draft.

Schefter source has mentioned that the Rams are looking for the “the right package” which suggests that there is plenty of interest in moving up.

We’ve already heard reports that NFL league executives believe that the new changes to rookie salaries will result in a very active trade market for some of this year’s picks.

It’s widely assumed that anyone looking to trade up with the Rams is doing so to take Baylor QB Robert Griffin III. Schefter lists the Browns, Redskins, Dolphins, and Seahawks as teams that are in the market for a quarterback and could be checking in with the Rams.

One other interesting aspect, is that the Vikings are also looking to deal their #3 overall pick but it ‘s hard to image that they’ll find much interest as this point considering that there isn’t a 3rd quarterback worth moving up for. Things can change after free agency plays out but at this point in time, you would have to think that they would stick with the pick and strongly consider USC OT Matt Kalil.
