D. Orlando Ledbetter reports that the free agent CB Brent Grimes is “coming back for another year.”
Grimes gets a one-year deal, which isn’t that surprising given that he’s coming off of a torn Achilles. This could be a great move the Falcons as they maintain some depth at cornerback without overpaying in the long-run.
The Rams and Buccaneers were believed to have interest in Grimes as well.

Jim Thomas reports that the Rams have shown “some interest” in free agent CB Brent Grimes and also mentions the Buccaneers as another team targeting him.
Jason La Canfora mentioned earlier in the day that Grimes could be headed for a limited market and mentioned that a possible return to Atlanta shouldn’t be ruled out.
There are a number of NFL teams shopping around for cornerbacks, so I’m sure he’ll find interest, despite the Achilles injury he suffered early on in the season.
