Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post reports that the Rams have claimed rookie S Marqui Christian off of waivers from the Cardinals on Wednesday.
Cutting Christian was a somewhat surprising move by the Cardinals, considering that he was a draft who managed to make the 53-man roster. However, Arizona was clearly looking to make a number of roster changes this week.
Wilson mentioned yesterday that it was possible Christian would be claimed off of waivers before the Cardinals could sign him to their practice squad.
Christian, was taken in the fifth-round of this year’s draft by the Cardinals. He’s currently in the first year of his four-year, $2.55 million contract and set to make a base salary of $450,000 for the 2016 season.
Arizona waived him on Tuesday.
Christian has yet to be active for an NFL game this year.
