Rams Considering Long-Term Extensions For DE Chris Long & LB James Laurinaitis

St Louis Rams’ COO Kevin Demoff mentioned that they’re “in the process of starting initial conversations” regarding long-term extensions for  DE Chris Long and LB James Laurinaitis, via ESPN.com.

Laurinaitis is entering the final year of his rookie deal and has been a fairly solid player in the middle of what’s been a pretty disappointing defensive unit.

There’s been some talk for a few months now that the Rams were looking to lock up Chris Long, so it’s really not surprising to see them start the process. On thing worth noting; Long’s agent Marvin Demoff just happens to be the father of Kevin Demoff, so there’s certainly a good chance that the two of them would be able to work something out.

We have Laurinaitis listed as the #45 best available free agent in our Top 50 Free agents list.

Lock them both up, please! Two of the few bright spots on the roster. Quality pieces to build around.
