They reportedly wanted to keep Gibson as their No. 3 or 4 receiver next year, but a top-heavy group of free agent wideouts could work in his favor. Same with Amendola who is reportedly targeting a similar contract to the one recently signed by Brian Hartline.
It’s also worth noting that the Dolphins reportedly have interest in Gibson.
St Louis was in need of help at the receiver position even with these two on their roster. Considering that they have limited cap space to work with, it makes sense that they could target some players in the draft as they have an extra first-round pick to work with.
