Rams “Likely” To Sign HC Jeff Fisher & GM Les Snead To Extensions Before Start Of Season

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Rams are “trying and expecting” to sign HC Jeff Fisher and GM Les Snead to contract extensions before the start of the regular season.

  • According to Schefter, it’s likely that the Rams will get agreements in place for the two men.

Both Fisher and Snead are entering the final year of their respective contracts.

Last we heard, Vincent Bonsignore reported back in June that talks between the Rams and the two men were expected to pick up in the coming months.

The idea with extending Fisher’s contract is that the team would prevent him from being a lame-duck coach. Also, with the team relocating to Los Angeles this year, it would give them time to settle in without a major shake up on top of what they’re already dealing with in regards to the move.

Previous reports had said that extensions could be coming for both Fisher and Snead, but there really hasn’t been a lot of buzz.

Interestingly enough, Fisher has experience being in charge of a team relocating, as he was the Oilers head coach when they moved to Tennessee and became the Titans.

Since taking the job in 2012, Fisher has led the Rams to a record of 27-36 (43 percent), which includes four straight seasons of less than eight wins.

We’ll have more regarding a potential extension for Fisher as the news is available.
