The Los Angeles Rams announced Tuesday that they’ve promoted OL coach Aaron Kromer to run game coordinator and TEs coach Shane Waldron to pass game coordinator.
“We want to be able to build from within here,” Rams HC Sean McVay said on the subject of assistant coaches earlier this month. “I think we’ve got a lot of good people that you want to try and do that. I think that’s what good organizations do when you just look around the league at kind of the landscape and how things have operated. So that’s going to be something that we’ll look at if we do end up losing some people.”
This comes after the Rams lost OC Matt LaFleur to the Titans.
McVay was the team’s play-caller last season, which is why LaFleur was able to depart for the same position with another team.
Kromer, 50, began his coaching career back in 1990 as a graduate assistant at Miami (OH). He took his first NFL coaching job in 2001 as the Raiders’ assistant OL coach.
Since then, Kromer has worked for a number of teams including the Buccaneers, Saints, Bears and Bills before the Rams hired him as their offensive line coach last year.
