Rams Not Expected To Pick Up OL Greg Robinson’s Fifth-Year Option

According to Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times, the Rams are not expected to pick up OL Greg Robinson‘s fifth-year team option in the coming weeks.

On Wednesday, the Rams officially exercised DT Aaron Donald‘s fifth-year option (NFLTR), which was a clear no-brainer for the team. However, their other first-round pick looks to be entering a contract year in 2017.

Los Angeles is expected to give Robinson a shot at taking over as their starting right tackle this season in an attempt to turn around what has been a disappointing career.

Robinson, 24, was taken with the No. 2 overall pick back in 2014. He’s currently in the final year of his four-year, $21.284 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $3,322,377 for the 2017 season.

In 2016, Robinson appeared in 14 games for the Rams and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 71 offensive tackle out of 78 qualifying players.
