Rams Place LB Alec Ogletree On Short-Term I.R.

The St. Louis Rams officially placed LB Alec Ogletree on injured reserve with the designation to return Tuesday, per Myles Simmons.

This move will cost Ogletree the next weeks of the season, but he’ll be able to practice with the team after six weeks. It’s worth mentioning that Ogletree will be eligible to return for the Rams’ Week 16 match up against the Seahawks.

Ogletree suffered a broken fibula and wound up undergoing surgery a few weeks ago.

Ogletree, 24, is in the third year of his  four-year, $7.03 million contract that include d a $3.492 million signing bonus. He’ll make a base salary of $1,044,092 for the 2015 season.

Entering today, Ogletree had recorded 32 tackles and two sacks for the Rams’ defense. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 18 outside linebacker out of qualifying players.
