Rams Privately Working Out Alabama QB A.J. McCarron Thursday

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Alabama QB A.J. McCarron is scheduled to have a private workout with the Rams on Thursday.

St. Louis was in College Station on Wednesday working out Texas A&M prospects Johnny Manziel, Jake Matthews and Mike Evans. They are expected to make other visits as well in the coming days to universities like Ohio State, Notre Dame, Michigan and Tennessee.

McCarron recently mentioned that NFL teams has told him that they have given him a first-round grade and he could be drafted at some point between the No. 16 and No. 35 overall picks.

“They felt like I could go anywhere from 16-35,” McCarron said, via Al.com“I believe that, too. At the same time, I don’t have my hopes set on anything. Whatever happens, happens. It’s a blessing for me to even be in this situation.”

McCarron has also met with or visited other NFL teams including the BrownsRavensJaguarsPatriots while canceling a visit with the Titans. The Cardinals have also come up as a team to watch in regards to McCarron.

We have the McCarron falling past round two in our most recent 2014 NFL Mock Draft, but that could change later in the week.
