Rams Starting QB Austin Davis Against Bucs, Shaun Hill Active

Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Dispatch reports that the Rams will start QB Austin Davis against the Buccaneers, even though Shaun Hill is active for today’s game. start, making his first NFL start.

This will be Davis’ first career NFL start.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Rams QB Shaun Hill will test his shoulder during pre-game warms to see if he can go.

However, St. Louis is reportedly preparing as if QB Austin Davis will be under center for Sunday’s game against the Buccaneers

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports that Rams starting QB Shaun Hill is traveling with the team to Tampa Bay for Sunday’s game.

However, Rapoport adds that Hill’s status for Week 2 remains in doubt.

Hill was forced to leave the game after playing 28 snaps. St. Louis brought in Austin Davis, who was largely ineffective against the Vikings’ defense.

Davis completed 69.6 percent of his passing attempts for 192 yards passing and an interception during the game and remains the team’s backup quarterback ahead of Case Keenum.
