Rams Re-Signing K Greg Zuerlein To A One-Year, $1.25M Deal

The Los Angeles Rams have have agreed to terms with free agent K Greg Zuerlein, according to Myles Simmons.

  • Rand Getlin reports that Zuerlein’s new contract is a one-year deal worth a maximum of $3.3 million and includes $675,000 guaranteed.

This shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, seeing as Rams HC Jeff Fisher told reporters on a few weeks ago that there was “mutual interest” bringing Zuerlein back. However, Fisher did say that their plans include bringing in real competition at kicker this summer.

Zuerlein, 28, was taken by the Rams in the sixth round of the 2012 NFL draft. He played out his rookie contract and is testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent for the first time.

In 2015, Zuerlein appeared in 14 games for the Rams and converted just 20 of 30 field goal attempts (66.7 percent) to go along with 26 of 28 extra point tries. He added 38 touchbacks.
