Rams Release RB Lance Dunbar

Ian Rapoport reports that the Rams have released RB Lance Dunbar on Friday.

Dunbar, 27, signed on with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of North Texas back in 2012. After playing out his rookie contract, Dunbar signed a one-year, $1.542 million contract with the Cowboys as a restricted free agent in April of 2015.

However, Dunbar’s 2015 season, unfortunately, came to an end after he sustained a torn ACL while returning a kick a month into the season. The Cowboys elected to bring him back on a one-year, $1.25 million contract last year.

The Rams signed him to a one-year, $3 million contract last year, but he opened the season the PUP list, which limited him to appearing in a handful of games.

In 2017, Dunbar appearaed in four games for the Rams and rushed for 51 yards on 11 carries (4.6 YPC) to go along with one reception for one yard and one touchdown.
