Falcons Bring In Veteran OT Joe Barksdale For Tryout, Rams Still Interested

Update:

Howard Balzer reports that free agent OT Joe Barksdale tried out for the Falcons on Monday.

It can’t hurt for the Falcons to take a look at their available free agent options, even though they did use a seventh-round pick on OT Jake Rodgers.

The Rams and Titans have shown interest in Barksdale, who is clearly among the best available offensive line free agents.

Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Dispatch reports that the Rams remain interested in re-signing OT Joe Barksdale, but there have been no talks in recent days.

Barksdale has been on the team’s radar for several months now as a potential option. However, the team came away from the draft with four offensive linemen including Wisconsin OT Rob Havenstein, Louisville OL Jamon Brown, Iowa OL Andrew Donnal and Fresno State G Cody Wichmann.

The Titans have previously shown interest in Barksdale as well, so they could also be a team to watch in the coming weeks.

Barksdale, 27, appeared in all 16 games for the Rams in 2014 and played a total of 1031 snaps. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 48 offensive tackle out of 84 qualifying players.

We have Barksdale listed as the No. 76 player in our Top 100 Free Agents list.
