Rams Reportedly Discussed Trading RB Isaiah Pead During The Draft

According to Dan Pompei of the Bleacher Report, Rams RB Isaiah Pead was the “the subject of some trade talks during the draft.

St. Louis wound up using a third-round pick on Auburn RB Tre Mason who now joins a Rams’ backfield that consists of Zac Stacy and Daryl Richardson.

Pead has been a big disappointment since the Rams selected him in the second round of the 2012 NFL draft. To make matter worse, Pead was suspended for the first four games of the 2013 season for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy.

It’s doubtful the Rams found much trade interest in Pead during the draft.

Pead, 24, has two years remaining on his rookie contract that’s worth $4.038 million. He has base salaries of $757,100 in 2014 and another $940,650 in 2015 coming his way in the next two years.

Last season, he appeared in 10 games and totaled seven carries for 21 yards rushing to go along with 11 receptions for another 78 yards receiving.
