According to TMZ, McDonald waited at the scene for police to arrive, who decided to bring McDonald back to the police station for a DUI screening after suspecting “something was off” when speaking with him.
While McDonald’s arrest was not alcohol related, police officials believe medication was involved.
McDonald, 25, is entering the final year of his four-year, $2.926 million rookie contract and is set to make a base salary of $730,03 in 2016.
In 2015, McDonald played in 11 games before suffering a season-ending leg injury and recorded 63 tackles, one sack, one pass defense, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. Pro Football Focus ranked him as the No. 62 overall safety out of 89 qualifying players.
