Rams Sign P Johnny Hekker To Two-Year Extension That Includes $10M Gtd

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Rams have signed P Johnny Hekker to a two-year extension that will keep him in L.A. for the next six seasons.

This new contract includes $10 million guaranteed, which is the highest punter guarantee ever, according to Schefter. In total, Hekker’s contract is worth $21 million and includes $9.6 million over the two new years added to the agreement.

Hekker, 27, wound up signing on with the Rams as an undrafted free agent out of Oregon State back in 2012. He was in the fourth year of his seven-year, $18.57 million that included $9 million guaranteed and set to make base salaries of $2,222,222 and $1,111,111 over the next two years.

This season, Hekker has appeared in one game and totaled 218 punt yards on five attempts (43.6 per attempt).
