Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Rams are signing rookie WR K.D. Cannon to a contract on Friday.
This is the third receiver that the Rams have signed in the past few days, so they’re clearly looking to improve the position ahead of preseason games.
Cannon, 21, signed on with the 49ers as a priority free agent out of Baylor shortly after this year’s draft. The 49ers actually gave Cannon a $45,000 signing bonus as part of his deal.
However, San Francisco somewhat surprisingly elected to move on from him after just a few days, even though they gave him $5,000 to sign. The Jets later claimed him off of waivers only to cut him loose last week to make room for TE Chris Gragg.
During his three-year college career at Baylor, Cannon recorded 195 receptions for 3,113 yards receiving and 27 touchdowns. He also totaled three rushing attempts for 14 rushing yards (4.7 YPC).
