Rams Signing Veteran RB C.J. Anderson

Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports that the Rams are signing veteran RB C.J. Anderson to a contract on Tuesday.

The Rams could use some running back depth behind Todd Gurley, who is dealing with some knee discomfort and Anderson was clearly one of the best available options at this point in the year.

Anderson, 27, wound up signing on with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of Cal back in 2013. He signed a four-year, $18 million contract that included $10 million guaranteed with the Dolphins as a restricted free agent during the 2016 offseason but the Broncos matched the deal.

Anderson was set to make base salaries of $4.5 million over the next two years of the agreement when the Broncos released him during the offseason. The Panthers later signed him to a one-year contract, but released him last month.

The Raiders recently signed Anderson to a contract only to cut him loose soon after.

In 2018, Anderson has appeared in nine games for the Panthers and Raiders and rushed for 104 yards on 24 carries (4.3 YPC) to go along with one reception for 24 yards receiving and one touchdown.

We have him featured in our Top 50 Available 2018 NFL Free Agents list.
