Rams Expected To Re-Sign WR Kenny Britt

Mike Silver of NFL Media expects the Rams to re-sign veteran WR Kenny Britt at some point in the near future.

  • Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported earlier in the day that the Rams were still working to retain Britt.
  • Britt reportedly has interest from other teams as well that were considering him as a second choice or backup plan at receiver.

Britt put together a solid first year with the Rams and has said previously that he would like to be back with the team for the 2015 season.

“I definitely want to come back here,” Britt said, via the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. “This is a young team. It’s a great young team. They’ve just scratched the surface on what their abilities could be. They’re growing each day, and they’re growing each year.

“I’ve only been here one year, so to see how they’ve grown from OTAs to now is just amazing. So I want to see ’em grow even more. I hope I can be a part of that.

Britt, 26, wound up signing a one-year, $1,400,000 contract with the Rams that included just $550,000 guaranteed after a disappointing end to his time with the Titans.

He’s one of the best remaining options at receiver, so it will be interesting to see who else is considering him.

In 2014, Britt appeared in all 16 games for the Rams and caught 48 passes for 748 yards receiving and three touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 36 receiver out of 110 qualifying players this past season.

We have Britt listed as the No. 59 player in our Top 100 Free Agents list.
