Rams Unlikely To Pick Up OT Greg Robinson’s Fifth-Year Option

Adam Schefter reports that the Rams are unlikely to pick up OT Greg Robinson‘s fifth-year option.

Schefter adds that a final decision has yet to be made, so this is a situation to keep an eye on moving forward.

Los Angeles is expected to give Robinson a shot at taking over as their starting right tackle this season in an attempt to turn around what has been a disappointing career.

The fifth-year option would run the Rams $12,496,000 for the 2018 season and becomes fully guaranteed at the start of the league year on March 9.

Robinson, 24, was taken with the No. 2 overall pick back in 2014. He’s currently in the final year of his four-year, $21.284 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $3,322,377 for the 2017 season.

In 2016, Robinson appeared in 14 games for the Rams and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 71 offensive tackle out of 78 qualifying players.
