Rams View Re-Signing LB Mark Barron As A “Priority”

Los Angeles Rams HC Jeff Fisher told reporters during this press conference at the Combine that re-signing LB Mark Barron will be a “priority” for them in the coming weeks, per Around the NFL.

  • Fisher added that they believe Barron fits their defensive scheme very well.

Barron, 26, came over in a trade with the Buccaneers last year that sent fourth- and sixth-round selections to Tampa Bay in return for the former first-round pick.

The Rams ultimately declined to pick up his fifth-year option in April, which would have run them $8.263 million for the 2016 season.

In 2015 Barron appeared in all 16 games for the Rams and recorded 116 tackles, one sack, three forced fumbles and five pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 20 linebacker out of 97 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 100 – 2016 Free Agents list.
