Rams Waive CB Troy Hill & CB Dwayne Gratz, Promote Two

The Los Angeles Rams have placed CB Troy Hill and CB Dwayne Gratz on waivers Tuesday, according to Alden Gonzalez.

  • Rams placed LB Josh Forrest on injured reserve.
  • Rams promoted CB Michael Jordan and LB Nic Grigsby to their active roster.
  • Rams signed LB Randell Johnson to the practice squad.

This comes just three days after Hill was arrested for a DUI and inactive for Sunday’s game.

Hill, 25, originally signed on with the Bengals as an undrafted free agent out of Oregon back in May of last year. He was unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason but later signed on to their practice squad.

Hill had a brief stint with the Patriots last year before he was claimed off of waivers by the Rams.

He’s currently in the second year of his three-year, $1.575 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $525,000 for the 2016 season.

This year, Hill has appeared in nine games for the Rams and recorded 38 tackles, no interceptions and two pass defenses.

Gratz, 26, is a former third-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2013. He’s currently in the final year of his four-year, $3.1 million rookie contract and set to make a base salary of $790,076 for the 2016 season.

The Jaguars reinstated Gratz from the reserve/suspended list before cutting him loose soon after. The Rams later claimed him off of waivers.

In 2016, Gratz has appeared in six games and recorded five tackles and no interceptions for the Jaguars and Rams.
