Rams Waive Former 2nd-Rd Pick RB Isaiah Pead, Promote CB Brandon McGee

The St. Louis Rams announced Tuesday that they’ve placed former second-round pick RB Isaiah Pead on waivers.

• The Rams replaced Pead on their 53-man roster by promoting CB Brandon McGee from their practice squad.
• St. Louis also signed former Saints WR Nick Toon to their practice squad.

Pead, 25, is in the final year of his  four-year, $4.038 million rookie contract that included a $1,376,800 signing bonus. He stands to make a base salary of $940,650 for the 2015 season.

This season, Pead has been active for two games and ran for three yards on two carries (1.5 YPC) and lost a fumble. He has also totaled 63 kick return yards.
