Rams Waived K Zach Hocker

The St. Louis Rams waived K Zach Hocker on Tuesday, according to the NFL transactions release.

  • Rams promoted DT Louis Trinca-Pasat from their practice squad.
  • Rams signed LB Matthew Wells to their practice squad.

Hocker, 24, is a former seventh-round pick of the Redskins. However, he was unable to make the team’s final 53-man roster coming out of the preseason last year and was among their final roster cuts.

The Dolphins later signed him to a future/reserve deal in early January before cutting him back May. Hocker later caught on with the Saints and managed to win the job this summer, but was cut loose over a month ago.

Hocker was signed while Greg Zuerlein was dealing with a groin injury.

In eight games this season, Hocker has converted 10 of 14 (71.4 percent) of his field goal attempts. He’s also 12 out of 13 in extra point tries.
