Update: Randy Moss Back To The Vikings?

ESPN’s Bill Simmons accidentally tweeted that the Patriots could be sending Randy Moss back to the Vikings which has got the rumor mill going after today’s trade of Marshawn Lynch seemed cool things down a bit.

Since then FOX Sports’s Jay Galzer has confirmed that the Patriots and Vikings have discussed a trade but added that the deal would require the Vikings to have new contract in place for Randy Moss.

Early into the season Moss mentioned that he was feeling unwanted by the Patriots but later downplayed his frustrations with the team. Moss finished last nights game without a single catch which is even more surprising when you consider that the Patriots scored 41 points.

Pro Football Talk reports that Moss has yet to begin negotiations with the Vikings on a new contract. PFT adds that he would be looking for a deal in the range of $9 million per season.

Albert Breer of the NFL Network is reporting that “no one is shooting this down, when given the chance to.” He adds that he is getting the feeling that “something’s happening.”

Jay Glazer has since mentioned that a deal could get done even if Moss isn’t given a new contract.

Ian Rapoport of the Boston Herald has news that the Patriots have said  “there is no trade.” This could be interpreted in several ways. So far no one has said that a deal has been reached but that the two teams have been working on a trade.
