Rashard Mendenhall An Option For The Cardinals?

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette mentions that the Arizona Cardinals could be a potential option for free agent RB Rashard Mendenhall this offseason.

The Cardinals brought in former Steelers’ offensive coordinator Bruce Arians as their head coach, so he’s more than familiar with what Mendenhall brings to the table.

Arizona currently was Beanie Wells and Ryan Williams on their roster, but there are obvious injury concerns with both players. Mendenhall, himself, suffered a serious knee injury a little over a year ago, but he would be a better fit for Arians’ offense in terms of what he offers in both the running and passing games.

It’s hard to imagine him commanding a large salary, so he could be a bargain for a team like the Cardinals.

We have him listed as the No. 63 best available player in our Top 100 Free Agents list.
