The Baltimore Ravens announced Tuesday that they’ve signed WR DeVier Posey to a futures contract for the 2018 season.
As of now, the Ravens have signed eight players to futures deals including:
- QB Josh Woodrum
- RB John Crockett
- FB Ricky Ortiz
- OT Steven Moore
- CB Robertson Daniel
- DB Bennett Jackson
- CB Robert Nelson
- WR DeVier Posey
Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.
Posey, 27, is a former third-round pick of the Texans back in 2012. He spent over three years in Houston before he was traded to the Jets in 2015.
Unfortunately for Posey, he was among the Jets’ final roster cuts coming out of the preseason and he sat out the entire 2015 season. The Broncos signed him to a futures contract for the 2016 season only to cut him loose coming out of the preseason.
Posey elected to sign with the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL and has spent the past two years in Canada.
In 2017, Posey caught 52 passes for 905 yards receiving and seven touchdowns over the course of 12 games and was named the Grey Cup Most Valuable Player.
