Ravens Activate DT Haloti Ngata & Place LB Arthur Brown On I.R.

The Baltimore Ravens announced Friday that DT Haloti Ngata has been activated from the reserve/suspension list and LB Arthur Brown has been placed on season-ending injured reserve.

Ngata was suspended four games for violating the league’s policy against performance-enhancing drugs close to a month ago.

Ngata, 30, still has two years remaining on his five-year, $61 million contract that included $37.1 million guaranteed. He carries a staggering $16 million cap figure for the 2014 season, so there is a chance that Baltimore could look to reduce that figure next year with an extension.

This season, Ngata has appeared in 12 games and recorded 32 tackles, two sacks, two interceptions, two forced fumbles and seven pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 9 defensive end in a 3-4 system.

Brown, 24, is a former second-round pick of the Ravens, but he hasn’t come close to living up to his draft status. Reports indicated that he could be available before this year’s NFL trade deadline, however, there was little reported progress towards a trade being completed.

His 2014 season ends with him being active for just four game, but he didn’t play a single snap, according to Pro Football Focus.
