Ravens Activate RB Danny Woodhead From IR, Waive TE Gavin Escobar

The Baltimore Ravens announced Saturday that they’ve activated RB Danny Woodhead from injured reserve and placed TE Gavin Escobar on waivers.

Woodhead, 32, originally signed on with the Jets as an undrafted free agent out of Chadron State back in 2008. He spent over two years in New York before signing on with the Patriots in 2010.

Woodhead finished out his three-year, $7.25 million contract with the Chargers, but his 2016 season, unfortunately, came to an end with him being placed on season-ending injured reserve back in September of last year with a torn ACL.

The Ravens signed him to a three-year, $8.8 million contract that included $3.25 million guaranteed and he’s set to make a base salary of $1 million for the 2017 season.

In 2017, Woodhead has appeared in one game for the Ravens and rushed for four yards on one carry and caught three passes for 33 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
