Ravens Aggressively Trying To Re-Sign OL Kelechi Osemele

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Ravens are aggressively trying to sign free agent OL Kelechi Osemele to a long-term extension.

According to Rapoport, the Ravens have already offered him a contract that would make him the second highest paid offensive player on their roster behind only QB Joe Flacco.

Some have wondered with the Ravens’ cap situation and after they already invested big money in Marshal Yanda whether they’ll be able to retain Osemele.

It’s going to take a huge contract to keep Osemele in Baltimore, given that he’s in line to be one of the best offensive lineman in this year’s free agent class.

Osemele, 26, was taken in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft by the Ravens. He has one year remaining on his four-year, $3.34 million rookie contract and stands to make a base salary of $846,255 for the 2015 season.

This season, Osemele has appeared in all six games for the Ravens and is rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 18 offensive tackle out of 77 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 100 – 2016 Free Agents list.
