Ravens CB Lardarius Webb Noncommittal About Playing This Preseason

Baltimore Ravens CB Lardarius Webb was unclear with reporters on whether he would play at any point this preseason, per Aaron Wilson.

I would love to have played some preseason, but I’ve been through some injuries,” said Webb. “I’ve been in the same position many times. I hate to say many times. We’ll see.”

Webb, 28, is recovering from a lower back injury that he aggravated on July 29 during practice, though no structural damage was revealed after testing. Webb has had a string of injury concerns in recent years after suffering a torn ACL in 2012 and admitted to playing through knee issues last season.

I just want to make sure that I’m ready,” Webb said. “They know what they’re doing. [Jimmy Smith], I trust him. I trust the organization. I trust Harbs. They’ll get me back whenever it’s best for me to be back.”

Despite any knee ailments, Webb recorded a career-high’s with 74 tackles and 23 pass deflections, while intercepting 2 passes. He ended the season graded as the No. 19 overall cornerback in the league, according to Pro Football Focus.

Webb has four-years remaining on a six-year, $52.7 million deal.
