Ravens Claim RB Raheem Mostert Off Waivers From Dolphins

The Baltimore Ravens announced Wednesday that they’ve claimed RB Raheem Mostert off of waivers from the Miami Dolphins and placed RB Lorenzo Taliaferro on season-ending injured reserve.

Mostert, 23, wound up signing on with the Eagles as an undrafted free agent out of Purdue back in May. However, he was unfortunately among the Eagles’ final roster cuts.

Philadelphia later added Mostert to their practice squad before the Dolphins signed him to their active roster a few weeks into the regular season.

This season, Mostert has been active for one game and totaled 57 kick return yards for Miami.

During the preseason, Mostert ran for 124 yards on 28 carries (4.42 YPC) to go along with 13 receptions for 154 yards receiving and no touchdowns.

Taliaferro, 23, was taken in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Ravens. He’s in the second year of his four-year, $2.52 million contract that included a $300,584 signing bonus, and he stands to make a base salary of $510,000 for the 2015 season.

Taliaferro’s year comes to an end with him rushing for 47 yards on 13 carries (3.6 YPC) to go along with five receptions for 29 yards receiving and a touchdown.
