Ravens Re-Sign CB Shareece Wright To A Three-Year Deal Worth Up To $16M

Update:

The Baltimore Ravens announced that they’ve re-signed CB Shareece Wright on Monday.

  • Ian Rapoport reports that Wright receives a three-year contract worth up to $16 million and $5 million guaranteed. Wright also gets a $4 million signing bonus.

Wright tells Josina Anderson of his new contract:

It’s definitely something that I really wanted. I think I had a few games that really helped out like holding Antonio Brown under control when I was on him at home. That was part of a great defensive effort from our unit collectively. Also, the Cleveland game where I was targeted 12 times and I only gave up 2 catches. I think games like that showed a lot and I am happy that the Ravens continue to believe in me.”

Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun reports that the Ravens are nearing an agreement with CB Shareece Wright before the start of free agency.

  • Zrebiec adds that a deal isn’t 100 percent complete, but Wright will be in Baltimore early this week to take physical and sign off on the deal.

Wright, 28, signed a one-year, $3 million contract with the 49ers back in March of last year, but was released in October after a disappointing season with the team. The Ravens later signed him to a contract for some much needed help at cornerback.

Wright would be an unrestricted free agent in the coming days if they’re unable to reach an agreement on a long-term deal.

In 2015, Wright appeared in 11 games and recorded 40 tackles and five pass defenses for the Chargers.
