Ravens No Longer Considering Free Agent QB Robert Griffin III

Jamison Hensley of ESPN reports that the Ravens are no longer considering Robert Griffin III as a potential backup quarterback option.

Instead, Hensley says that Baltimore plans to look at options at other quarterback options, including Colin Kaepernick.

Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti said Sunday that they’re discussing the possibility of bringing in free agent QB Robert Griffin III for a workout, per Jeff Zrebiec. Although, they still plan to monitor Joe Flacco‘s back injury and backup QB Ryan Mallett‘s play.

• Ravens president Dick Cass confirmed that they’ve  had direct discussions with free agent QB Colin Kaepernick are currently weighing the possibility of signing him. (NFLTR)

RGIII recently worked out for the Chargers but left without a contract. Los Angeles has since traded for Cardale Jones, so he longer appears to be an option for them.

Griffin, 27, is a former first-round pick of the Redskins back in 2012. He spent four years in Washington before signing a two-year, $15 million contract that includes $6.75 million guaranteed with the Browns back in March of last year.

RGIII was set to make a base salary of $6 million for the 2017 season when the Browns released him this past March.

In 2016, Griffin appeared in five games thrown for 886 yards while completing 59.2 percent his passes to go along with two touchdowns and three interceptions. He’s also added 190 yards rushing and two touchdowns for the Browns.
