Ravens Could Be Looking To Upgrade The Backup QB Position

Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com mentioned a few days ago that with the Ravens reportedly showing interest in QB Brandon Weeden — before he signed with the Cowboys — appears to be a sign that they are looking for a better backup quarterback.

Tyrod Taylor has backed up Joe Flacco for the past three seasons, but Hensely doesn’t see him a viable stopgap for Baltimore, should something happen to Flacco.

“If Flacco had to miss a significant amount of time, the Ravens’ season would be over because Taylor isn’t an accurate passer,” Hensley writes.

As for free agent options, Hensley mentioned that Matt Flynn and Rex Grossman are available.

The Jets recently released Mark Sanchez, but he could target a job that would give him a better shot at seeing playing time at some point.

There is always the possibility that they could target another developmental quarterback in this year’s draft who could work with new offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak.
