Ravens Could Place A Waiver Claim On RB Daryl Richardson

According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, the Ravens are “at least considering” the idea of placing a waiver claim on recently released RB Daryl Richardson.

The Ravens obviously aren’t at the top of the waiver priority, so it would take some teams passing on Richardson for him to end up in Baltimore.

Previous reports mentioned that the Ravens would like to add multiple running backs in the draft, but they wound up selecting just Lorenzo Taliaferro in the fourth-round.

Richardson, 24, had two years remaining on his four-year contract worth $2,145,896, which included base salaries of $570,000 and $660,000 coming his way over the next two seasons.

It was a little surprising to see the Rams cut him loose on Thursday given that it appeared as though Isaiah Pead could be the odd man out in St. Louis.

Last year, Richardson ran for 215 yards on 69 carries (3.1 YPC) and contributed 14 receptions for 121 yards receiving as well.

We should know more about Richardson in a few hours.
