Ravens Discussing Extensions With “Several” Free Agents

Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome told reporters on Monday that they have been in contact with “several” regarding contract extensions, and he expects talks to continue in Indianapolis later this week.

We’ve engaged in discussions with several of our players,” Newsome said, via Pro Football Talk. “With the Combine coming up and the majority of the agents will be there and we’ll be there, I’m sure we’ll have more talks, but we’ve engaged in several conversations with several players.”

Baltimore just locked up OLB Terrell Suggs to a fine-year extension that offers them some immediate cap relief, but they still have a number of free agents to address this offseason.

That list includes: LT Eugene Monroe, TE Dennis Pitta, RT Michael Oher, DE Arthur Jones, CB Corey Graham, LB Daryl Smith and WR Jacoby Jones among others.

Recent reports have indicated that the Ravens would like to re-sign Eugene Monroe, Dennis Pitta and Daryl Smith, but it appears likely that they will allow Arthur Jones and Michael Oher to sign elsewhere.

According to OverTheCap.com, the Ravens should have close to $11.879 million in available cap space to work with this offseason, which could make it tough lock up Monroe and Pitta and still have room to address other roster needs.

We have a number of these players listed in our Top 100 Free Agents.
