Ravens Expected To Target A WR This Offseason

Matt Zenitz of the Carroll County Times expects the Baltimore Ravens to target a wide receiver in either free agency or the NFL draft.

Ravens WR Jacoby Jones will be an unrestricted free agent in the coming months, and although he has made some incredible plays for the Ravens, he has yet to develop into a consistent No. 2 receiving option for them.

Baltimore figures to move forward with Torrey Smith and Marlon Brown as their top-two receivers, but there will be options available to them.

Zenitz mentions that Clemson WR Sammy Watkins could be a great option for them, but given that they are drafting at No. 17 overall, they may not even have a shot at him unless they are willing to trade up. Zenitz lists Texas A&M’s Mike Evans and USC Marqise Lee as two options that could be available to them by the time they are on the clock in May.

As for free agency, Zenitz sees Anquan Boldin, Hakeem Nicks, Eric Decker, Jeremy Maclin, Julian Edelman and James Jones as some of the receivers the Ravens could consider.

We have all of these players listed in our Top 100 Free Agents list.
