Ravens Forced To Release WR Anquan Boldin This Offseason?

ESPN’s Adam Schefter mentioned on Thursday’s NFL Live that the Baltimore Ravens may “very well” end up parting ways with WR Anquan Boldin following the Super Bowl, via Rotoworld.com.

Schefter added that the Ravens are projected to be $5 million over the 2013 salary cap, which is a huge problem given that Joe Flacco is set to become an unrestricted free agent and is reportedly seeking $20 million annually in his next contract.

If the Ravens were to release Boldin, they would shed $5.5 million and cutting Jacoby Jones could free up another $3.5 million.

On top of that, Baltimore still wouldn’t be able to address their other free agents like S Ed Reed, OLB Paul Kruger, ILB Dannell Ellerbe and CB Cary Williams. We have all of these players listed in our Top 50 & Top 100 Free Agents list.
