Ravens Have Discussed Trading The No. 17 Overall Pick With Interested Teams

Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome told reporters on Wednesday that they have spoken to interested teams regarding their No. 17 overall pick.

Ian Rapoport points out that their selection is a “big time value spot” seeing as a team with interest in one of the receivers could trade up ahead of the Jets for the best available player.

According to Rapoport, teams are “convinced” that the Ravens will trade out of the current slot.

Rapoport mentions that the 49ers could be someone to keep an eye on given that previous reports have mentioned them as a team to watch in regards to trading up.

San Francisco and Baltimore have worked trades in recent years (Anquan Boldin), so this seems like a possibility. The 49ers have has much draft capital as any team, but that could also lead them to move up even further in the draft than No. 17 overall.

We have the Ravens selecting Notre Dame OL Zack Martin in the first round of our most recent 2014 NFL Mock Draft.
